The Town of Cheshire Poet Laureate is a volunteer position appointed by the Town Council. Patricia Mottola, the current Town Poet Laureate, was appointed to the position effective February 13, 2024 with a term through December 31, 2025. The Poet Laureate is responsible for presenting to the Town Council a plan for local poetry and literary activities during their two year tenure, fostering local public appreciation of poetry and literary arts, and implementing special poetry and literary projects as identified and requested by the Town Council.
