Employees of the Public Works and Parks & Recreation Department work together to clear Town-accepted roads and Town-property sidewalks of snow and ice during winter storms.
Please assist the dedicated professionals whose hard work and efficiency keep the Town roads safe during difficult conditions by adhering to the following directives.
Residents (or their hired contractors) may not put snow from driveways or sidewalks into the street.
Residents will be responsible for curb damage resulting from private plowing.
No cars may be on the street during a Police ordered Parking Ban, which occurs during most winter storms.
For your safety and the safety of the driver, yield to plow trucks.
The Town is not responsible for items in the Town-owned right-of-way which are damaged during plowing:
Remove above ground items like basketball poles and decorative fences/planters before a storm.
Be sure that underground installations (sprinklers, electronic dog fences) are set back behind the right-of-way limits.
Please contact the Public Works Office at 203-271-6650 with questions.
