The Cheshire Police Department works to ensure and protect the safety and welfare of all Cheshire residents and visitors to maintain and enhance the quality of life. The department is comprised of five divisions with 48 sworn officers, eight civilian dispatchers, four civilian administrative personnel, and two Animal Control officers. The five divisions include Administration, Patrol, Investigation, Traffic and Safety, and Support Services. Check the links below for more information on our divisions. Seven Specialized Units operate among the divisions: ATV Patrol; Bicycle Patrol; Honor Guard; Crash Reconstruction Squad; Motorcycle Patrol; Special Response Team (S.R.T.); and Warrant Service Squad.
