The Town Clerk’s Office is responsible for recording, maintaining and preserving land records, maps, vital statistics and other municipal records, including meeting minutes of all official boards, commissions and committees, for access by the public. The Town Clerk's Office also issues the following:
Absentee ballots and applications
Burial and cremation permits
Certified copies of Land Records and Maps
Certified copies of vital records: Birth Death Marriage
Justices of the Peace Copies of recorded military discharge papers (or, to submit an online request to the National Archives for a certified copy of a DD214, click here)
Copies of Zoning Regulations Books and Maps Dog licenses
Hunting and Fishing licenses
Liquor Permit ($20.00 fee to file with Town Clerk)
Marriage licenses
Registration of Property Being Foreclosed $60.00 Trade Names and Certificates ($10 filing fee)
Notary Public services
The office accepts cash or checks payable to "Cheshire Town Clerk." Credit cards are also accepted. There is a 2.5% processing fee (min. $2.00) for credit card usage.
